MUMBAI: Sridevi, who was considered the queen of Indian cinema, was highly respected in the film industry due to her extraordinary acting and dignity.
Renowned Bollywood director Pankaj Parashar, who worked with Sridevi in two films Chaal Baaz (1989) and Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahi (2004), shared his memories of her in a recent interview.
Recalling an incident from the past, Parashar said that one day in Film City, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Ranjit, and Shakti Kapoor were enjoying mutton biryani during a break in the shooting when suddenly Sridevi entered the room. As soon as they saw the actress, the four senior actors stood in respect. They said that it felt like a high-ranking military general had entered. This was a testament to Sridevi’s personality and position.
Parashar further said that initially Sridevi was professional and aloof during her work, but as soon as she understood his vision, her attitude changed significantly.
Her dual roles in Chaal Baaz won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, and the film became another manifestation of her artistic brilliance.
