Islamabad: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has requested the Prime Minister to include him in the High Power Selection Board, due to which the HPSB meeting scheduled for Monday and Tuesday was postponed until January.
According to government sources, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has demanded the Prime Minister to include him in the High Power Selection Board as he wants to participate with the Prime Minister in the process of promotion of senior officers from Grade 21 to 22.
The final decision to include Bilawal Bhutto in the High Power Board will be taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after which the High Power Board meeting is likely to be convened again in January.
The last meeting of the High Power Selection Board was held in February 2023.
According to sources, a proposal was made in the Central Selection Board meeting to include Chief Ministers in the promotion of officers in Grades 20 and 21, which was rejected by the Prime Minister and Senator Saleem Mandviwala has been included in the SSB. In the past, various political figures including Naveed Qamar have been included in the SSB.
