Peshawar: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Ishtiaq Ibrahim has remarked during the hearing of a case related to the law and order situation that we transferred some judges of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) after security was withdrawn.
A case related to the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was heard in the Peshawar High Court, a 2-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice SM Atiq Shah heard the case.
The Registrar Peshawar High Court, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and police officers appeared in the court, the Registrar High Court said that the SOPs regarding the tank have been shared with us, the southern districts are not yet clear. There is a meeting today, we will discuss it.
He said that SOPs have been prepared for the southern districts, Additional Registrar DI Khan will give a report on it, this is the report of the police department, I have submitted a detailed report.
ACS said that there is a slight difference of opinion with the Registrar on some things, Tank and DI Khan are high-risk areas, there should be security with all judges there, security has been asked for with all senior civil judges, there are 1550 security personnel with senior civil judges and additional judges.
ACS said that we have a shortage of funds, so it would be better if we do it in phases, Registrar says that we will determine the most sensitive districts, our suggestion is that CTD determines the sensitive districts, it would be better.
The Additional Chief Secretary informed the court that bulletproof vehicles were discussed, they should be absolutely bulletproof vehicles, delivery of bulletproof vehicles takes time, so time is needed for this, the judge who needs security should talk to the DICC (District Intelligence Coordination Committee).
Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said that we have transferred some ATC judges, their security was returned, so we transferred them, if there is any talk of withdrawing security from the judges, bring it to the notice of the registrar.
The Chief Justice remarked that we cannot even give you such an open hand, the government is facing financial difficulties, we realize this.
The Registrar High Court said that issues also come up in the family court, Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim said that family issues are the most serious issues of our society, you should sit together and find a solution to these problems.
The court said that they should inform us after the meeting regarding the security of the southern districts, and further hearing of the case was postponed indefinitely.
