Islamabad: The Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench has rejected the PTI’s request to take suo motu notice of deaths during violent protests.
Additional Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appeared in the court through video link in the case related to the Climate Change Authority.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s lawyer said that there were deaths from both sides yesterday, the Constitutional Bench can take suo motu notice, so the Constitutional Bench should take suo motu notice of these incidents.
The head of the Constitutional Bench, Justice Aminuddin Khan, said that we cannot see the matter that is before us from the beginning.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel said that this matter is not before us, we do not want to discuss it.
Justice Musarrat Hilali reprimanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s lawyer and said that he should not make political remarks while appearing in the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court disposed of the petition regarding the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was filed by the founder of the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Lawyer Babar Awan said that the matter has been finalized with the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and no court action is required on the petition of the founder of the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
