The Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad has declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur a proclaimed offender.
The court has declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur a proclaimed offender in a case registered at the I-9 police station in the federal capital.
ATC Islamabad Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued a written order in which it was said that after declaring Ali Amin Gandapur a proclaimed offender, the case was separated from the other accused.
The decision said that during the hearing, non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for the accused Raja Rashid Hafeez, Wasiq Qayyum, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Faisal Javed, Omar Tanveer, while the lawyers of all the absent accused Sardar Busy, Murtaza Turi, Zahid Bashir Dar filed a petition for exemption from appearance.
It said that the application for exemption from appearance of all the absent accused is rejected and their bail bonds are cancelled, further hearing of the case is adjourned till November 28.
It should be remembered that 3 days ago, the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad had sought a report on the execution of Ali Amin Gandapur’s arrest warrant from the police in the liquor and arms recovery case and remarked that the court cannot wait for the accused.
During the hearing, the court had inquired from the prosecution that Ali Amin Gandapur’s arrest warrant has been issued, what happened to its execution?
The court sought a report on the execution of the arrest warrant from the police, Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer said that the Peshawar High Court has extended the protective bail, the judge remarked that if you bring the order of the Peshawar High Court, he will cancel the arrest warrant.
The accused’s lawyer had said to wait a little, there are other cases in the High Court, to which the judge said that the court cannot wait for the accused, Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer said that the Peshawar High Court order will be submitted to the court as soon as it is received.
The court, while maintaining the arrest warrant, had sought a compliance report from the police and adjourned further hearing of the case till November 23.
It should be noted that in October 2016, Islamabad police had claimed that they had recovered 5 Kalashnikov assault rifles, a pistol, 6 magazines, a bulletproof jacket, alcohol and three tear gas shells from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader’s car outside Bani Gala.
The PTI leader had rejected these police claims, saying that he was traveling with two licensed Kalashnikov rifles, and there was a weapons license in the car.
They also claimed that they were carrying honey in a bottle of liquor, which was confiscated by the police.
