The District and Sessions Courts, Islamabad, has reserved its verdict on Sheikh Rashid’s acquittal application in the case of accusing Asif Zardari of conspiring to kill Imran Khan.
Civil Judge Yasir Mahmood heard the acquittal application in the case filed against Sheikh Rashid on allegations related to President Asif Ali Zardari.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appeared in the court along with his lawyers and the lawyers argued that the laws were not followed in the FIR registered against Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
The lawyers requested to acquit Sheikh Rashid Ahmed from the case and referring to the Shahbaz Gul case, said that Sheikh Rashid Ahmed is accused of speaking against a private person.
The court reserved its verdict after the completion of the arguments.
It should be noted that former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had accused Asif Zardari of conspiring to kill Imran Khan, for which he was arrested on February 2.
A local PPP leader, Raja Inayat, had filed a complaint against Sheikh Rashid. Based on his complaint, the Aabpara police station registered a case, in which sections 120-B, 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code were included.
