The bill to increase the number of judges in the Supreme Court will be presented in the National Assembly on Friday.
Parliamentary sources say that the number of judges in the Supreme Court will be increased from 17 to 23 and the Supreme Court will consist of 23 judges including the Chief Justice.
The bill to increase the number of judges will be presented by the government. The bill has already been presented by Barrister Daniyal Chowdhury on the day of the private proceedings.
According to the sources, the National Assembly session was extended till Friday to approve the bill, while according to the revised schedule, the session was supposed to end today.
According to parliamentary sources, the process of consultation on the amendment of the Practice and Procedure Act is also going on.
