Islamabad: The meeting of the special committee of the National Assembly for consultation on the constitutional amendments is going on. In the meeting, the proposals of the Bar Council regarding the constitutional draft of the People’s Party and the constitutional amendments of the government will also be taken into consideration.
The meeting of the draft committee established for constitutional amendments is going on under the chairmanship of Chairman Khurshid Shah. Azam Nazir Tarar, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry Rehman, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar, Leader of Opposition Umar Ayub and Center Ali Zafar are participating in the meeting.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) is likely to present its constitutional amendment draft in the parliamentary special committee meeting.

People’s Party leader Raja Pervez Ashraf said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman said a good thing in yesterday’s meeting that he and PP will make a draft together and share it. Yes, this is a constitutional amendment.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that major parties PP and PML-N are advocating for this constitutional amendment, the opposition is against it i.e. PTI, these three parties support any reforms according to their own needs. Or they oppose it, if PTI was in government, it would have needed a similar bill, today they are opposing it because their political interests are being harmed.
It should be noted that the meeting of the special committee ended without result yesterday, in which the deadlock between the political parties remained, PTI and JUI did not present their drafts, the government and the People’s Party submitted their own drafts.
