Lahore: Section 144 was immediately implemented in 5 districts of Punjab.
According to the Punjab Home Department, the districts in which Section 144 has been implemented include DG Khan, Leh, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Kot Addu. Section 144 has been enforced for 3 days. The ban will be in effect from Saturday, October 12 to Monday, October 14. Notification of implementation of Section 144 was issued.
The decision to implement Section 144 was taken at the request of the concerned district administration under which all kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, protests and all such activities will be banned. Given the security threats, any public gathering can be a soft target for terrorists. Orders were issued for the establishment of law and order, protection of human lives and property.
