In connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Conference, Islamabad Traffic Police has prepared a comprehensive plan.
Islamabad traffic police spokesperson has said that the public is informed that traffic diversion plan has been arranged at different times in connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Conference on October 15, 14 and 16, 2024 in Islamabad.
In this regard, it is requested to use alternative routes to avoid any difficulty. The traffic police have instructed the passengers to use Taxila, Motorway, Chakri Interchange, Chuck Bailey Road and Rawat Road from GT Road Peshawar to Rawat.
Those going to Peshawar from Lahore GT Road should use Rawat, Chuck Bailey Road, Chakri Interchange, Motorway and Taxi, those going to Rawalpindi from Margalla Road should use Ninth Avenue, traffic going to Zero Point from Faisal Avenue should be diverted to Ninth Avenue. Those going to Rawalpindi from Gay, Bhara Kahu have been instructed to use Ring Road, Bani Gala to Lahtrar Road.
Those traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should use Ninth Avenue from Saddar Murree Road, the expressway from Sub Point Faisal Avenue to Coral Chowk will be closed for all traffic. Those coming to Faizabad from Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Road should use Stadium Road from Ninth Avenue Signal. Heavy traffic from Peshawar to Lahore should use Taxila Motorway and Fateh Jang Road Interchange and Motorway from Tarnool Phatak.
Chakri Interchange Motorway is open for heavy traffic from Lahore GT Road to Rawalpindi. Islamabad Traffic Police further said that from 14th to 16th October 2024, all types of heavy traffic will be closed in Islamabad.
