Beirut: An Israeli army officer was killed and another seriously injured during a clash with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to Israeli media, the official who was killed in a clash with Hezbollah in the southern Lebanon region has been identified as Sergeant Major (retd) 36-year-old Ronnie Gunizet.
In this clash with Hezbollah, an officer was seriously injured and was brought to the Israeli military hospital by helicopter. The official’s condition is said to be critical.
The Israeli army’s statement added that Major Rony Ganizet, who was killed during the clash, was part of the 5030th Battalion of the Elon Brigade, which is fighting Hezbollah’s Dobdo in southern Lebanon.
The statement said that the death of 36-year-old Ganizet brought the number of Israeli army personnel killed in the Dobdo war with Hezbollah in Lebanon since September 23 to 12.
In the statement issued by the Israeli army, it has also been claimed that two Hezbollah commanders who attacked Kiryat Shmona yesterday were killed in an airstrike in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army claimed that the names of the Hezbollah commanders killed in the airstrike were Ahmed Mustaza al-Haj Ali and Muhammad Ali Hamdan, who are responsible for attacks in several locations in Israel, including Kiryat Shmona.
It should be remembered that the husband and wife, 45-year-old Revetial Yehud and 43-year-old Dever Sharuit, were killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack in Kiryat Shmona area, who were walking their dogs at the time of the attack.
