ISLAMABAD: The government has called a meeting of both the houses of the parliament and political analysts have expressed the possibility that some important legislation may be passed.
The government seems to be in a major legislative mode, which is why many bills are being introduced in the current session of the National Assembly and Senate, the most important of which is the bill to increase the number of judges in the Supreme Court.
Saturday is a holiday in the federal capital Islamabad and federal institutions, but this time the meetings of the National Assembly and the Senate have been called on Saturday as well.
Political experts say that the purpose of calling the meeting on Saturday is to pass some important laws, while the Law Minister says that the government is not bringing any constitutional amendment tomorrow.
In view of the important legislation in both houses, the Senate Secretariat has issued a notification for the meeting, according to which the Senate offices have been directed to open at 11 am today.
