Islamabad: The High Court has fixed the contempt of court case for publicizing allegations against Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
The Registrar’s Office has fixed the case for September 26, which will be heard by Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir.
The court has issued notices to 2 journalists including Waqas Malik Advocate, while the President PFUJ has been appointed as judicial assistant. Senior lawyer Ahmar Bilal Sufi and Syed Ahmed Hasan Shah advocate are also appointed judicial assistants.
The case was last heard on July 9 before the annual vacation in the high court.
Meanwhile, the hearing of the contempt of court case against Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court was canceled due to non-availability of a larger bench on September 11. Due to the unavailability of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, the September 11 hearing will not be possible. Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan are also included in the bench.
The Office of the High Court Registrar will issue the next date of hearing of the case in the causelist. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had directed the FIA to issue notices to the people involved in the campaign. The court has also sought reports from FIA and ISI till the next hearing.
