Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 32 Militants in Major Counterterrorism Operations
ISLAMABAD, July 29, 2026: Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 32 militants during intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), announced on Wednesday.
According to the ISPR, the operations were conducted during the night of July 28 and 29 in Khyber District, where security forces launched targeted raids on militant hideouts based on credible intelligence. During the operation, 24 militants identified by the military as members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.
In a separate series of operations in Noshki District, Balochistan, security forces killed eight militants described by the ISPR as belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan.
The military stated that a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials was recovered from the slain militants in Noshki.
According to the ISPR, clearance operations are continuing to eliminate militants allegedly operating with Indian backing. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam national campaign, launched following approval by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
Separate Operation in Swat
In a separate development, a joint operation by Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Matta area of Swat resulted in the killing of four militants, while several others were reported injured.
Security sources said an Elite Force constable, Gulfam, embraced martyrdom during the operation.
Authorities added that security personnel successfully secured a strategic position in the Rashad Sar area after intense fighting.
According to security officials, the militants had taken refuge inside a house and allegedly used members of the resident family as human shields during the exchange of fire.
