Lahore: The High Court rejected the request to remove Nawaz Sharif’s photo on the ration bag.
Justice Shahid Karim heard the petition against the distribution of flour bags and ration bags with Nawaz Sharif’s picture by the Punjab government, in which the court rejected the request to immediately remove Nawaz Sharif’s picture from the ration bags.
The Lahore High Court issued a notice to the Punjab government on the petition filed by lawyer Azhar Siddique and sought its response.
It was argued in the petition that public exchequer cannot be used for personal publicity. Thus distribution of flour is against the dignity of citizens. The court is requested to stop the publication of Nawaz Sharif’s photo on the bag. It should be ordered not to harm the self-esteem of the citizens for the distribution of flour.
The Punjab government should be ordered to deliver the money to the homes of the citizens through unprecedented income support.
