Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan announced the schedule of election of Chief Minister of Punjab.
In the announcement issued by the Secretary Punjab Assembly, it has been stated that the Chief Minister will be elected on Monday, February 26.
According to the Secretary of the Assembly, the nomination papers will be submitted in the Punjab Assembly by February 25 at five o’clock in the evening. Even if there is a candidate, there will be selection by division.
PML-N Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have nominated Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan as the candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab.
It should be noted that on Saturday Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan of Muslim League (N) has been elected the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and Malik Zaheer Iqbal Chanar has been elected as the Deputy Speaker with an overwhelming majority. Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan of Muslim League (N) secured 224 votes while his opponent was Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar of Sunni Ittehad Council who secured 96 votes.
