Iran has sentenced pop singer Amir Hussein, also known as Tatalo, to death for insulting the Prophet of Islam.
According to Arab media, the famous Iranian pop singer was summoned from Turkey last year and detained for blasphemy.
Earlier, the singer was sentenced to 5 years in prison for blasphemy, but the case was reopened and this time blasphemy against the Prophet ﷺ was also proven.
Upon which, the court accepted the prosecutor’s objection to the previous 5 years of imprisonment and sentenced the 37-year-old singer to death for insulting the Prophet of Islam.
It should be remembered that singer Amir Hussein had been living in Istanbul since 2018 and was arrested by Turkish police at the request of Iran for blasphemy and the Prophet and extradited to Iran in December 2023.
Earlier, the singer was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for promoting prostitution, spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic, and publishing obscene material.
