Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that direct taxes and export sector are indispensable for the development of the country, tax payers are our national heroes.
Addressing the Tax Excellence Awards ceremony, he said that digitization is very important in the tax system, digitization will increase revenue and bring transparency in the system, increasing revenue and bringing transparency is our priority. Exports are to increase with increase in productivity.
Chairman FBR Malik Amjadzbirtwana said in his address that measures for expansion of tax base, transparency and digitalization of tax system will continue continuously.
In a meeting with Japanese ambassador Matsuhirowada, the finance minister said that increasing taxes in proportion to the gross national product is one of the government’s priorities, and is committed to reforms for the stability and sustainable growth of the overall economy.
