Lahore: National cricketer Imad Wasim withdrew from international cricket.
Imad Wasim is determined to be present for Pakistan, even at the time of retirement he said that he will be available to play whenever Pakistan needs him.
The announcement of the retirement of Imad Wasim was the only obstacle in his return to the national team. He will now be included in the squad for the series against New Zealand.
Imad, who represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 65 T20I matches, announced his retirement in November last year after being neglected by the team, saying that he would now focus on playing in foreign leagues.
After his excellent performance in PSL Nine, the board officials wanted him to be part of the national team again, but before his return, he had to announce his retirement.
In this regard, he had a meeting with PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz. Board officials are of the view that the Pakistani team needs an experienced all-rounder and Imad Wasim can fill that gap. On April 14, the New Zealand team is coming to Pakistan where they will play three matches in Pindi and two matches in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
In the first phase of the preparations for this series, the national team’s fitness camp has been scheduled from April 26 at the Kakul Academy.
Imad Wasim had assured in the meeting with the PCB officials that he will also be made a part of the World Cup squad. After the New Zealand series, Pakistan has to play against England and Ireland from where they will leave for America for the T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup in America and West Indies is starting from June 1. The Pakistani team has to play the first match against America on June 6. A match between Pakistan and India has been arranged in New York on June.
